SpywareQuake - Creating Tremors On Your System

SpywareQuake, like many adware programs today, claims to be one of the best spyware removal tools on the market. It tells you what's wrong with your system, and it even offers to fix it for you at a fee. The problem with this program, however, is that the things it identifies on your system are not serious risks to your  machine, and some of the tactics this program uses are unfriendly in the best of circumstances.

What is SpywareQuake?

SpywareQuake is adware that installs without  your knowledge or consent. During any given browsing experience, your computer may lock up and send you an error message that you have spyware installed on your machine. For many users, this can be a rather intimidating experience, but the real problem is that you don't have spyware on your machine, you have an adware program that is trying to frighten you into purchasing software that you really don't need on your computer. You'll get constant spyware warnings in the taskbar section, which are simply more advertising tactics trying to get you to purchase the program. The text of these warnings usually says something like: "Critical system error! System detected virus activities. They may cause critical system failure. Please, use antim alware software to clean and protect your system from parasite programs. Click here to get all available software." Click on the alert will promptly take you to a page where you'll be asked to purchase software or download a free trial, which will just cause more system problems that you currently have.

How Did I Get SpywareQuake?

Like most other forms of adware, the chances are quite good that you got SpywareQuake without your knowledge. You were probably browsing a site one day, and when you clicked to close a popup, SpywareQuake took the opportunity to install itself. In other cases, though, it simply installs itself in the background during your browsing experience. Still, in other cases, you have downloaded another program in recent days that had SpywareQuake attached to it. User experiences vary to some degreee with the method of transmission, however, most users agree on one thing - it can certainly slow your system down, and it's a huge hassle that you simply shouldn't have to deal with.

How Can I Remove SpywareQuake?

Removing SpywareQuake, like most adware programs, just isn't as easy as it should be. You have three primary options when you go to remove this program. First, you can try to do a system restore or boot to your last known good settings. Now, keep in mind that almost all versions of Windows can be affected by this piece of adware, and not all systems have the ability to reboot to last known good settings, so if that's not an option for you, you'll have to move on to another method of removal. Your other option is to run your anti-spyware software. If you don't currently have good anti-spyware software, it's certainly time that you get some. The biggest problem in finding software to meet your needs, though, is that so much of it on the market today is more adware, and installing it on your machine will only cause you more problems. Choose only reputable software programs. Check unbiased review sites, talk to your friends and neighbors, and see which programs are out there. One really great one is ParetoLogic. Once you have an anti-spyware tool you trust, keep it updated, and scan your machine at least once a week for spyware problems. Your software should take care of SpywareQuake, but in the event that it doesn't, or you just want to be sure you've gotten rid of the entire thing on your system, you'll have to not only delete the program files it has installed, you'll also have to edit your computer's registry. Keep in mind that editing your computer's registry without some experience is a bit dangerous, so if you've never done that sort of thing before, it's best either to let a professional teach you to do it or let a professional handle the entire process. A list of installed program files and registry keys follows this article.

SpywareQuake may be a low level threat to your machine, but it's a bit of a problem, as you don't need to be frightened into thinking that you have spyware problems when you don't. Eliminate the problem today.
