Aluria Antispyware is one of the most popular and most often updated anti-spyware tools on the market. When we add in the fact that it employs a very intuitive interface, it is clear why Aluria Antispyware has become a program of choice for many large corporate users throughout the world.

Interface

The interface is very intuitive and well designed. Right after startup, Aluria displays the Security Center screen that shows all of the Aluria-brand programs installed and it allows you to manage them from a single screen. Using a single interface to configure all your security (anti-spyware, anti-virus and anti-spam) tools is a huge improvement, even though you have to use Aluria security software to take full advantage of it.

The only drawback of the Aluria Antispyware interface is its tendency to display annoying pop-up alerts. While it does not normally interfere with your everyday activity, it can get tiresome if you have some extremely resistant spyware.

Main features

The main features of Aluria Antispyware include:

*Real-time threat tracking and blocking capabilities,

*All standard scanning options (processes, system registry and files),

*Excellent threat recommendation system that allows legitimate adware (consumerware) programs to be left in peace,

*Good descriptions and danger estimates of detected threats,

*Rollback capabilities allowing you to restore all removed programs. This can be extra handy if you accidentally remove a program you realize later that you need. It saves you the time of going back and re-downloading it all over again.

Performance

Aluria Antispyware's performance has been graded as above average, which is certainly much better than most other anti-spyware tools. While its detection rate alone is impressive enough, what is really surprising is the fact that Aluria Antispyware is one of only two spyware scanners capable of getting rid of the dreaded CoolWebSearch adware (the other one is Spyware Doctor). The scanning time is very short and the same is true for the removal time. Aluria Antispyware is supposed to be able to remove 100 threats in less than thirty minutes and that makes it one of the fastest anti-spyware tools available.

Summary

Aluria Antispyware is good enough to consider buying as a stand-alone product, but it is even better if combined with other Aluria security tools. If you are looking for a universal security system, Aluria Antispyware combined with other Aluria security programs is probably the best choice. If you decide to buy one Aluria program, it is probably best to go ahead and get the bundle since the programs all work better and more efficiently as a group then they do individually. You'll be impressed at what the bundle has to offer, especially since it's a program group that most Internet users have never heard of. But Aluria proves that you don't have to be McAfee or Norton to create an excellent group of products that are more than capable of protecting your PC for years to come.
