Error Nuker is a popular registry cleaner and system optimization tool (though most of its features are registry-related). Though certainly not the fastest program in its category, Error Nuker is still a capable, if not simple, tool for both novices and experienced users.

Interface

The Error Nuker's interface is relatively good and easy to use; though it seems a little too plain and a little unclear during the first few minutes. Once you get used to the unappealing colors, you will find Error Nuker's interface nice and friendly. While the program is far from being fully configurable, it gives you enough modifiable setting to let you customize it to your needs.

Main features

The program has most of the typical features of registry cleaners. Error Nuker is capable of scanning your registry and computer for all types of errors that lower the overall performance, including registry errors, duplicate files, invalid shortcuts and the like. Error Nuker boasts additional features such as the scan scheduler and the ability to prevent some programs from loading during the logon phase.

However, Error Nuker lacks the ability to detect/remove ongoing processes (a very useful trait while fighting with spyware) and its scanning speed is noticeably lower than other registry cleaners. This small, but annoying problem is tied to the fact that Error Nuker does not actually show the progress of scanning, making it impossible to guess how much time it is left.

Error Nuker does not have many optimization tools beside those related to the registry cleanup. If you need anything more than that (like complex hardware diagnostics or disk cleanup tools), you will have to rely on other programs.

Safety

Error Nuker is extremely safe to use. First, the critical parts of the registry are left alone during the scan to prevent possible damages. Then, the detected threats are color-coded and reasonably well described allowing the user to choose the best way of handling the problem. And finally, Error Nuker comes with an excellent restore/undo feature that is able to undo only specified changes instead of a general system restore from a backup point.

Summary

While the interface might put you off for a moment, Error Nuker is a good and reliable registry cleaner, certainly worthy of purchasing. You should know, however, before you buy it that there are many other programs on the market that do the same thing Error Nuker does, and much, much more, but you're going to pay more for those extra options. Error Nuker makes for a good first time registry cleaner because of the safeties it has in place to prevent any permanent damage to your registry. But for most experienced registry cleaners who are looking for a comprehensive utility pack to clean their computer from one end to the other, there are many other options on the market that make more sense then Error Nuker. Let's hope the designers come out with an Error Nuker Advanced that appeals more to experienced users. Oh, and let's hope they work on that garish design, too!
