NoAdware ReviewProduct: NoAdware
NoAdwareNoAdware review While NoAdware is one of the better products on the market and is certainly worth a closer look, it still lacks the qualities necessary to become a top star. NoAdware is still in the process of improving though, and it is clear that it will soon become a market leader if the upward trend continues over the next few years. You can bet the competition is seeing NoAdware in its rear view mirror, and it is closing fast. Interface
The interface used by NoAdware is well-designed and easy to use even for the most inexperienced users. Finding the right button, scheduling a scan or fixing the problems that sprout up is easy to perform, even with minimal computer experience. The only problem is that the interface often reacts quite slowly, especially on slower machines. Sometimes clicks can take as long as 10 seconds to respond, which can be maddening if you're in a hurry or if you're using the program for the very first time. Another problem is that the program seems to not like Internet Explorer very much as we had several instances where the browser stopped working completely during system scans. Hopefully, future versions of this software will fix that bug. Main features
NoAdware lacks a few advanced features that other anti-spyware programs have, but it is still capable of protecting the computer reasonably well. NoAdware is capable of: *Providing rudimentary real-time protection, *Scanning processes and Windows registry, *Backing up all files before removing, allowing an easy rollback, *Scheduling the scan for off-hours. Generally, NoAdware has all the necessary options, but little more than that. Performance
NoAdware achieved only an average result during our tests; detecting and deleting roughly half of the adware/spyware residing in the test PC. While this is more than most freeware scanners, it is well below most top spyware removal tools. What's more, NoAdware isn't terribly fast and the complete scan usually takes over half an hour (plus the time needed to get rid of unwanted software).
Another problem is the fact that during the complete scan, something causes Internet Explorer to stop working. This happened because of unwanted Internet Explorer toolbars that NoAdware incapacitated, but was unable to remove completely. This is clearly a bug and we hope it will be fixed soon. Pros & cons:
+ Well-designed and user-friendly interface, + If it detects something, it can kill it. - Only average detection rate, - Sluggish interface and slow scanning procedure, - Can cause browser's instability. Summary
NoAdware is certainly worth a closer look, but it is recommended that most users wait a little longer and let the program mature a bit. If the detection rate goes up in the near future, NoAdware will surely become one of the major players on the market. For now, it is only one of many average anti-spyware tools that are worth considering, but not actually buying. In a few years, however, that could change and NoAdware could become the leading product on the market that everyone will have installed on their PCs. |
